Day 195 of Teaching

Is it this hard for every teacher? When I cover a new topic every 2 days, I need to put in about 4-5 hours of research (which I don’t have in my non-contact time) for each topic. And sometimes I have 3 different topics. Should summer break just be treated as working from home days? And when students just ignore you and treat you as invisible, is that normal? They care more about what their friends think anyway.
